We're throwing a special Citizen Summer Session August 17th!
Citizen Brewing Co. presents Smokes, Let's Go and Swear By The Moon.
Smokes, Let's Go
There’s an eerie humour in the hard truth, depending on your version of it. We’ve grown accustomed to darker realities being obscured by idyllic and tongue-in-cheek external presentations. Our personal histories photographed and captioned to present some ideal version of ourselves while the struggle rarely gets mentioned.
Smokes, Let’s Go longs to live within that internalization. Breathing lyrical life into that struggle, the band cinematically emphasizes the chaos of choice, while casting dry, winking humour amid its sentimentality.
Sonically, the groundwork of Smokes, Let’s Go revels in elements of heavier, jangling rocknroll, laid bare with unflinching country gospel poetry, like Crazy Horse backing Paul Westerberg in a desert truckstop.
Swear by the Moon
Swear by the moon is motivated madness by unpredictable practice.
It is small town meets big city.
It is boy meets girl and everything that happens in between.
Zachary Moon and Meagan Loves together form a chemistry that cannot be described, only enjoyed. Their linear style of writing is not born of structure, but feeling, and leaves you wondering what they might play next.
